Thinking about an Alaska cruise?

Are you thinking about doing an Alaska cruise? The Alaska cruise season runs from late April through early October. The best weather is typically July and August.

Sailing through the Inside Passage is beautiful. Highly recommend a balcony cabin, as it's great to be able to sit on your balcony and watch the great scenery while drinking your morning coffee, or afternoon beverage of choice.

The glaciers are incredible. White Pass and Yukon train trip in Skagway is incredible in that it retraces the Gold Rush.

Tip: If your cruise stops in Skagway and you plan on doing the train trip, visit Gold Rush National Park in Pioneer Square in Seattle.

Tip: If you take the train up and the bus back, you will need your passport to get back into the US.

Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, and Hoonah/Icy Strait Point are fun to explore. Lots of excursion options in Juneau, Ketchikan, and Sitka. Glacier Bay National Park, and Dawes Glacier are incredible. In Juneau, Red Dog Saloon is a great place for food and beverages.

When deciding on a cruise, look at what ports are scheduled. They can vary a lot by cruise line. Price will vary based on what part of the season you're sailing. When school is out, expect to pay more.
